Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Latvia, Irakli Kurashvili, paid a working visit to Jelgava city
On April 24, 2024, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Latvia, Irakli Kurashvili, paid a working visit to St. Jelgava, where he held an introductory meeting with the mayor of the city, Andris Rāviņš. The senior counsellor of the embassy, Mikheil Sulaberidze, also participated in the visit.
The city of Yelgava is the main industrial, agricultural, cultural and tourist center of Zemgali region.
It was noted at the meeting that the city of Yelgava is interested in cooperating with the regions of Georgia in order to share the experience accumulated in both countries in various fields. The ambassador provided information to the mayor of Yelgava about the regional development of Georgia and the reforms implemented in the country.
The ambassador visited the Latvian University of Life Science and Technologies located in Jelgava (Latvia University of Life Science and Technologies located in Jelgava). A meeting was held with the management of the university, the ambassador got acquainted with the university, its work, learning opportunities, achievements in science and The Ambassador of Georgia had the opportunity to personally meet with the Georgian student in the Erasmus+ program at Yelgava University.
The ambassador also visited the Jelgava Technology Secondary School, which stands out for its innovative approaches throughout Latvia. A meeting was held with the leadership of the university, the ambassador got acquainted with the university, its work, learning opportunities, achievements in science and research. The Ambassador of Georgia had the opportunity to personally meet with a Georgian student who is in the Erasmus+ program at Yelgava University.
The ambassador also visited the Jelgava Technology Secondary School, which stands out for its innovative approaches throughout Latvia.
